Organization Activities & Initiatives

Public Health Speaker Career Series

Each semester the club hosts a career series, where public health professionals from various sectors introduce students to their respective fields, as well as the current issues that they are working towards improving. In the past, the topics have included global public health, maternal health, and mental health and overall well-being, however this is based on member interest. This is a great opportunity to learn and network in the field of public health.

Volunteering

Each semester the club has provided a minimum 3 volunteer activities and opportunities. During the Fall Semester of 2020, the club was involved in volunteering at various Influenza Vaccination and Covid-19 Screening clinics which served the Rowan University Community and local food drives.

Public Health Promotion

Online presence is one of the clubs strong suits, where each of the social media pages not only promote club activities and news, but also serves as a distributor of public health information. During the Covid-19 Pandemic, the pages have been regularly posting about safety related to the pandemic, especially in regards to student life.

How to get involved

There are many ways to get involved with the Rowan University Public Health Club. The best ways would be to attend a general body meeting, which are held at least once a month. This semester they are on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 14:00 to 15:00. Reaching out to the executive board by email or to the club through ProfLink are also great ways to get involved.
