"After switching to the Community Health major, I felt like I was finally getting education geared more toward the field I am interested in. The small class size and having professors with firsthand experience in the field made learning even more immersive. In addition to my courses, I was able to connect with others and be involved through the Peer Education club, National Wellness Institute, the Public Health club, and Get FIT. Because the Community Health major is relatively new, my peers and I played a role in developing the Public Health club so that students in the field have an opportunity to connect outside of class and use their knowledge to serve the Rowan community."

As a Health Promotion Wellness Management major and minor in Psychology, I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of clubs and organizations both in and outside of my major. Beginning my freshman year, I had the exciting chance to be a basketball coach for Rowan University’s Unified Sports and did so for three seasons. In the beginning of my sophomore year, I joined Get FIT as a peer trainer and after three semesters, I was promoted to a Session Manager role. In addition to my involvement with Get FIT and Unified Sports, I held an executive board position as Rowan University’s Chapter of National Wellness Institute's event planner. Through this, I had the remarkable opportunity to take the student lead on our organization’s first annual Health, Wellness, and Fitness Internship and Career Fair. I am eternally grateful for the experiences Rowan University has given me and I am excited to begin my graduate degree in occupational therapy beginning this fall!
